Daksha Patel - Misprints

Daksha Patel - Misprints

Posted on behalf of School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee

Misprints is an interactive exhibition by artist Daksha Patel. It is the outcome of a residency at University of Dundee, hosted by research scientist and clinician Prof. Miratul Muqit. The title of the exhibition refers to mutations or misprints in the genetic code which can be a trigger for Parkinson’s, the focus of Prof. Muqit's work. The artist’s prints are mutations of her original drawings, which were made in response to her visual research in the laboratories of the Medical Research Council Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit (MRC-PPU) at the University of Dundee.

In this exhibition you will be invited to have a conversation with a research scientist and actively engage with a print installation. It opens for one day only on Tuesday 8th October at Centrespace gallery, DCA. Visitors will be able to prebook (free) tickets from 2-4pm or 6-8pm via the DCA. website. You can find out more about the artist’s work here and Professor Muqit’s research here

Please note that this event will be filmed and conversations recorded. Please let us know on arrival if you do not wish for this to take place. We ask for visitors to arrive 15 minutes before their session.
