PhD Master Class | 'European Environmental Governance Assessment'

Posted on behalf of Institute for Social Sciences Research

As part of the ISSR Global Scholar Programee, Professor Stephen Stec will deliver a PhD master class.

'European Environmental Governance Assessment Frameworks'

Professor Stephen Stec will engage students and colleagues in a discussion about the development of an environmental governance assessment framework for the European Commission as a supporting mechanism for the Environmental Implementation Review process.

The development of the framework has involved a close examination of European environmental legislation and policy in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Aarhus Convention and other legal and policy instruments. The exploration of the topic will include some methodological problems encountered at the boundaries between research and instrumentalities.

Lunch will be provided in the mezzanine area of the Dalhousie Building (upper balcony) 12-1pm followed by the class in room 2F11
